2. Purpose of the Website

This website provides a locally running password generator. No generated passwords are stored. There is no registration, no logins, and no analytics.

3. Data Processing, Legal Basis, Retention

3.1 Local Settings (localStorage)
To remember your display settings (e.g. dark/light mode) and generator options, the site uses localStorage. These data remain on your device. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR: user-friendly operation). Retention: until you delete them in your browser.

3.2 Clipboard
When clicking “Copy”, the generated password is written into your clipboard. This happens exclusively on your explicit action. No server-side storage takes place. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) b/f GDPR (use of the function).

3.3 URL Parameters
The site may reflect settings in the URL (e.g. length, character sets). Passwords are never stored in the URL. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR.

3.4 Server Logs
When accessing the site, the hosting provider processes technically necessary information in log files (e.g. IP address, date/time, requested file, user agent, referrer). Purpose: operational security, error analysis, defense against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR. Retention: deletion/anonymization after a short, purpose-bound period.

4. Use of External Content (CDNs)

For delivering libraries (Bootstrap, Bootstrap Icons, SweetAlert2), a Content Delivery Network (CDN) is used (jsDelivr). Requests may be routed to servers worldwide. This can include transfers to third countries outside the EU/EEA. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (efficient, secure delivery). Without these resources, the site does not function correctly.

In addition, we use the services of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, for content delivery, security and performance optimization. When you access this website, requests are routed through Cloudflare servers. In this process, technical data such as your IP address are processed. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and fast provision of our website). For more information, see Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ .
